It's a cheat really as the blood isn't actually moving.

I cut a rough mask around an image of splattered red paint in Motion 3. Then animated the mask to reveal the paint by moving it sideways over 4/5 frames. With motion blur turned on you can't see the edges. I darkened the paint in Photoshop using lighting effects to make it look more like blood.

The gunsmoke and splatterwipe are both presets in motion 3.

He shot against the mirror, behind the victim. So the bullet get thrown back, and killed the woman.
