  • I like Kollo. When I heard him singing Siegfried's death I cried...

  • Hard to believe she was 60 here...and what an unusual thing. I never heard Kollo sing anything Italian. It was never ,y favorite voice, but he's better here than in German rep. I always thought he was underpowered for wagner.

  • Wonderfully sung.TY Onegin65 for posting.

  • It is a pity that Kollo did nok sing in italian opera more often. He had a splendid spinto-lirical tenorvoice, perhaps not suited for the belcantorepetory, but for parts like this Cavaradossi. Instead of beeing sorry for the lack of italian parts, I am very glad, that he took the belcantoteqnique into the world of Wagner. Listen to his exellent performance of the "Gralserzählung", where de demonstretes sotto-voce as beautifull as in - lets say - Elisir d´amore or Faust.

  • I'll listen to Birgit sing anything!

  • She was ill-suited for the Italian repertoire (notable exception Turandot, of course). Just like she froze the Nile in Aida, here she freezes the Tiber!

  • @warnercell That's what I always say!!! People judge without being able to do at least the same as the singers do! If someone sings at the MET or La Scala or wherever, he/she has to do at least something right... And most critics don't even know anything about opera, nor can they sing half as well as these singers!

  • He's wonderful! Too bad I haven't "discovered" him earlier, I've heard of the name but I haven't heard the voice. An interesting Cavaradossi, did he really sing this role?! I thought his repertoire didn't exactly include Tosca....

  • cring? = cringe

    underware? = underwear

    hes? = he's

where have you sang? = where have you sung

  • I think´that he is a very good Wagner singer and only a normal Opera singer. And he is much better than the most singers here on youtube.

  • Lol, I have to answer this. Its so easy to feel like you are on the top of the world in the bathroom. When you are on the stage its a different reality. Its so hard and nervewracking.

  • All of you critics crack me up . Not a one of you ever stood before a piano in front of an audience and sang anything. " He made me cring" Douce bag its called producing sound . Pronouncing the words clearly , and whatever technique he uses it works. Not a one of you could carry their dirty underware. Provincial ttehnique LOL Hes sang at Wagners house.Where have you sang ? the bathroom. ?
