One day before the nine-day closure of the Alaskan Way Viaduct; King County Councilmember Joe McDermott challenged County Executive Dow Constantine and Seattle City Councilmember Tom Rasmussen to a race from West Seattle to Seattle City Hall. Each man used a different form of transit with McDermott riding the King County Water Taxi, Constantine riding a Metro bus, and Rasmussen riding his bike. Watch what ensues!
Reminds me of the Top Gear challenge! Some lighthearted fun -- love it! IT was the London race, if I remember correctly.

So obvious that these characters live in their own little world of sycophants--all of which agreed it best to make a cute, mildly condescending video intended to express care as well as placate the masses. Most of us see this for the nonsense that it is. While the video makes alternate transportation look adorable, just wait until King County voters deal with actual gridlock fallout over the next week (and off and on into the future). Fair or not, elected heads are likely to roll.
