At ~ 2:25 there is a punctuation where we here the same chord as the one ending Josquin's original Mille regrets ; I take it as a moving dedicace.

AlainNaigeon, you are right. But there are plenty of 'dedications' to Josquin's original chanson. The whole mass is based upon his music, using his phrases and cadences... Its an entire tribute from Morales to the emperor Charles V, who was a fanatic of Josquin's music. That's the reason by which the 'Mille Regretz' was called 'the emperor's song'.
