Here is another video on Butthead's ghost.
Due to some people being skeptical about ghost sims, such as sickdz7, I will post a simple tutorial in this description on how to get ghost sims in Sims 2. Ready?
Step 1: Choose a human sim (I am not sure if pets work or not) you want to become a ghost (probably someone who you do not really care about having in your family since this trick will require you to kill that sim)
Step 2: Kill off your sim (sims die off automatically when they reach their age limit under the aging system of sims 2 by the way)
step 3: when your sim(s) and after the grim reaper pronounces your sim's death, either a tombstone or a urn should appear in his/her place (depends on if your sim died indoors or outdoors), and whater you do, DO NOT SELL OR DELETE THE TOMBSTONE/URN otherwise, nothing will happen, since getting rid of tombstones/urns gets rid of ghosts permanently.
step 4: assuming you did this correctly, on random nights a a ghost of your disceased sim should appear and start haunting your family household.
Before I finish this tutorial, I thought I would point out a few things about ghost sims in Sims 2:
- I believe it only works for humans (of course, if you have the pets verion of sims 2 and you can get ghost pets, feel free to correct me on that one, with a video response as proof).
- as with other random events that occur in the game from time to time (i.e., burglers, alien abductions, death by satellite, job scenariou cards, etc), ghost sims appear randomly, meaning on some nights, your ghost sim will appear (usually sometime between 9pm and 6am) and on other nights, the ghost sim does not appear (in my experience, it was about 2 sim days after butthead drowned before he started haunting my sim family).
-For those of you who have played the orginal sims (such as Sims Bustin out), many versions of which also have ghost sim, there are some changes to sims 2 ghosts I've noticed:
1. instead of a wierd tune playing whenever your ghost sim is about to appear, you will hear a ghostly floating noise (as you heard it in the video) as soon as he/she appears.
2. They do come in different colors in Sims 2, based on how they died. Examples: if your sim burned to death, for example, he would appear read and smokey. In my sim's case, he died by drowning, and so he is blue and leaves puddles everywhere.
3. Ghost sims have more personality in Sims 2. In sims 1, they would mainly walk around mindlessly and if live sims see one, they just get spooked. However, in Sims 2, if a live sim gets too close to a ghost sim, sometimes the ghost will disappear for a few seconds and reappear, scaring the living daylights out of your live sim (sometimes your live sims can literally get scared to death if their motives are low enough). Also, it appears sometimes you can make a ghost angry and more aggressive, usually either by moving his grave/urn around too often, having the ghost's x-husband/wife cheat on him/her after he/she dies, letting kids smash the graves or urns, or even having another sim family move into that household.
-one other pointer: don't tamper with the ghost sim as I did in the first video (such as trying to move the ghost with the moveObjects cheat) as that will drastically reduce how often ghost sims appear (happened to me, as intervals between butthead's appearances tended to be sim weeks for a while due to my tampering with him).
- Another ponter: if your ghost sim becomes a problem (such as having live sims getting scared to death or water puddles everywhere), you can get rid of him/her by deleting the tombstone. However, I've heard that if you move a new family into the home with a ghost sim, you might not be able to get rid of the ghost sim (even if you do sell the tombstone/urn) and so you'd have to live with it in that case.

@Amber12345634 I was naming my sims after Beavis and Butthead in this video. It's been a guilty pleasure of mine watching the shows sometimes (they are funny to watch), and decided to make some sims named after them. Though I haven't been playing Sims 2 lately (currently I am playing through Metroid Prime 2, Red Dead Redemption and Borderlands)

you know, one funny thing worth pointing out about ghost sims is that in Sims 2 for PS2, you can actually control the ghosts when your sim(s) die, which means that you can use the ghost to spook people, posess people, etc.

If you need help getting a ghost in Sims 2, all you have to do is to kill off a sim (that you don't care for), don't remove the grave or urn he/she leaves behind. If you do that right, then on some nights (this event seems to happen at random), the ghost of the sim you killed off should haunt your sim home. I am not sure which version you have, but at least in the version I have ghost sims do exist.

do you be a ghost in sims 2 pets for wii?

I don't know about the wii (perhaps someone with a wii would know more than I do), but in the PS2 version, the developers made it so that your sims can never die (even when they do "die", they pass out and someone revives them), and so I don't think that ghosts exist in sims 2 pets (at least for PS2), though your sim(s) can get abducted by aliens in that game).
