  • Why is it that people focus on "Americans" using so much fuel and supposively creating global climate. The Europeans are as culpable and look out for China/India...their are massive amounts of people with alot of money from interest on loans they get from us...they will be the one to deplete the world's "FINITE" oil and cause the world to disappear due to global warming. PUT THE HEAT ON CHINA AND INDIA DAMN IT!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sorry that Glenn has the foresight to know we shouldn't replace one problematic fuel source with another.

  • We usually subsidize because foreign countries do it. Same reason we subsidize big oil: the Saudis are doing it. If they stop, we should stop. It's import tarrifs on corn and ethanol that are the bigger problem. Total BS here.

  • We don't make rice into fuel.

  • Glen Beck is an idiot. Oil, dipshit. Oil. Nothing here is correct. None of it.

  • FARMERS SHARE OF EACH DOLLAR SPENT AT THE GROCERY STORE = 11.6 CENT. These guys dont have the slightest clue. Ethanol is made from cattle feed not corn. 2% of all corn produced is turned into ethanol plus the protien is fed to cattle. NO ONE HAS EVER STARVED FROM THE LACK OF STARCH.

  • 3. What does deforestation have to do with any of this? If they are paying farmers not to plant crops then they wouldn't need to cut down trees for more land. Use the land we already have.

This is all just a bunch of B.S. propaganda put out, and payed for, by big oil.

J.D. Rockefeller started it by paying off old ladies to start the prohibition movement, and oil companies are continuing the tradition. Glen Beck... The voice of big business (available to the highest bidder).

  • How much of this program is B.S.? Well take a look at what they are saying. 1. First they say that there is a global demand for food and the U.S. must feed these countries, then say our government is paying farmers not to grow crops. Well if we (or the world which we are inherently responsible for) need more food then grow it on the fields that haven't been planted. 2. Then they start blaming food shortages on all the riots in the world. NOT!! The food shortages is a result not a cause.

  • Glenn I am sorry we are not "burning our food supply". The bi product of Ethanol is a concentrated distillers grain that has three times the amount of Protein in a concentrated easy to ship product that is feeding our cattle. We only remove the sugar which essential in bovine livestock feed. Farmers are able to "rebuy" the corn for a fraction of the cost of the non DG product.

  • One of the facts is that food prices (along with everything else) are going up mainly due to transportation costs. Everything that you touch, at some point, has been shipped by truck, train, boat, or plane. They all take fuel. When the price of fuel goes up, the price of shipping goes up, the price of everything goes up. Plane and simple.

  • ignorant stupid is just plainly stupid! ethanol is a renewable resource. the lack of this resource is merely because the provider of ethanol is not that much compared to oil. if ethanol industry as huge as oil industry, heck we wont have energy problem anymore.

no matter how harm ethanol is to the environment, oil does it three times! but hey, i guess the 5 of 10 biggest companies in the world wont just agree to that, wont they!

  • Why do fools who seem to know nothing about alcohol never want to mention that distiller's grain is left over after corn is used to make alcohol and that those grains are better feed then the original corn?

Give the Oil Companies credit they do a great job buying these people to convince the human sheep that alcohol does not work (just forget the facts)...

Too bad the alcohol plants are located in the rural areas and too many people have seen this stuff work so that it's not going away :-)
