This would have been the 19th annual New Years Day Polar Plunge at Racine's North Beach but it was cancelled due to the large icebergs that formed a Antarctic type crust along the shoreline. Milwaukee was able to hold theirs and still jump in at Bradford Beach but I guess our waters were alot more dangerous than theirs. The temperature was 26 degrees at noon ,but that didnt stop hundreds of people from stopping down at the beach on a frigid winter morning to support a good cause.
