Retro Waffles

The title says it all. Hope you are hungry!
This is circa 1937 and was made in the USA by Manning Bowman and Company. It was sold door to door! It also has black walnut handles on either side of the waffle iron.

It was made by Manning Bowman and Company, in the USA. The serial number is 1037. I enjoyed making the vid- look for the sequel next year!

I have an older model waffle iron from 1928, under the iron it has a fancy name plate that says, "Home Electrics" by the M&B co. The company years later dropped Home Electrics in favor of there true name, Manning-Bowman. My waffle iron did not have an internal thermostat, I plugged it in one time, and answered the phone, I was on for about fifteen minutes, and the top of the iron was glowing cherry red! Older electric waffle irons relied on the batter to regulate the temperature!
