A Warning about Retractable Leashes. Please insist that people who walk your dog know how to use a retractable leash. If they don't know how to operate one, insist on using a standard leash.

Harley was tragically killed May 31, 2009. As he crossed over the Rainbow Bridge, we remember his loving and comical ways that touched many hearts, and he will be missed.

Special thanks to Jackie and Linda who held him during his final hours.

When Harley came into our lives last January, he was accepted by my two border collies, Lady Reckless, and Tinsel Town immediately.

After Lady Reckless passed away in February, it was Harley's regular visits that kept Tinsel Town from sinking into total depression. I remember being so thankful that Harley was in our lives to help Tinsel through her tough times of lonliness. Tragically, last night, Tinsel Town had to say goodbye to Harley - something that none of us were prepared for.

Harley Boy, we'll miss you so much.

  • so sorry. losing a dog unexpectedly is the worst thing in the entire world. my boy theodore was hit by a train two weeks ago. i wish i couldve given him just one last hug. i feel like having a dog for 10 or even 15 years and losing him then by natural death is by far better than it all happening so unexpectedly.

  • What happened with the retractable leash? So sorry for your loss

  • I too have lost a great friend, named Samson. An all-white Jack Russell that meant the world to me. I miss him so very much, and I have cried more for him than anyone could ever imagine. Samson and Harley are playing together now, and I am sure that they are forever happy.

  • Sorry for your loss. I to have two wonderful JRT's they are great dogs to have. I wouldn't want to change anything about them. It's hard losing your best friend.

  • R.I.P Harley. You are now in Rainbow Bridge. This video also made me cry. I have two Jack Russells and they are the love of my life. My female JRT is deaf. I rescued her from an abusive home. Sorry about your loss.

  • i cried when I saw the last two photos. I feel so sorry. indeed he was a good dog. R.I.P Harley...

  • Miss you Harley boy.

  • Sorry for your loss. Yes they can be a hazard if not used properly. I prefer a regular old leash. Goodby Harley.
