If Matthew Did sing here, why didn't he in the Lion King?

@film017forever According to Matthew, he couldn't loosen up enough for the director. The Lion King was released in 1994, before Matthew was comfortable with singing. His first musical was in How to Succeed in 1995, so he got most of his musical training there, post-Lion King. Even then, I think Matthew has a different singing voice/persona from what would suit Simba.
