@roadwarrior1981 Thibaud and Cortot do it in ~4:18. Thibaud was 19 and Cortot was 20 when Chausson died. They were all French. Could this be an indication of "correct" tempo? Heifetz was born 2 years after Chausson died.

Wrong, not even Perlman, Jorge and the Juilliard Quartet play it that slow. They do it in 4:01
