  • Generally lower UL rating. For a 22# unit you might get a 2-A rating. Remeber there is no such thing as a "cure all" type extinguisher. Consider what you need it to do.

  • Halon is way better than Halotron and dry chem.

  • i see the ansul types all the time when i am out working

  • that is an ansul 10 lbs dry chem the older co2 cartridge type doesn't look big enough to be a 20 lbs but they sure do weigh enough to be one

  • Ansul redline, I believe it's 20 or 30lb

  • What's the extinguisher on the ground?

  • I dont know if its better in how fast it extinguishes the fire. I only got to use a handheld Halon twice.

Halon is clean. Halotron 1 is less effective then Halon from what I have heard and based on what I got to try. My test was not scientific so I would take my results with a grain of salt.

Almost all of my expeience with Halon is with wheeled units. Even then we have never really used them on anything other then propane props just for the hell of it before they ahd to be recharged.

  • Nice, you dont see ansul redline too often

  • Is halon better than drychem if you don't care about the mess? What's wrong with halotron 1, I heard it was just as good but pricey!
