I hate the VS announcers, man it's so great that in Buffalo we have Rick J, and if it's on VS we can watch it on CBC instead and see the Coach to! For the sake of the sport they need to get back on ESPN!

@TheSkookumchuk Yeah, exactly. I can get tired of seeing the players do all of this fancy stickhandling in practice and stuff and then when it's a one-on-one they dump it in instead of try to make a play.

@Linkster500 Ah, I understand what you mean. You mean he's just less dump & chase oriented; he can weave his way to the net. Which is true.

well, i guess that by "showy" more what I'm referring to is that he does the dekes that you wish all hockey players would. he doesn't just lose the puck. he makes an effort to keep it, and will use them to get around players more than other people do. that's kinda what I mean by showy.
and, my opinion has slightly changed since i posted that comment and watched the NHL season in depth..

@Linkster500 Datsyuk isn't showy, in fact, I think he can be very subtle. What he is is smooth, efficient, poised. That's why he is the best stickhandler. The puck is glued to his stick (unless he doesn't want it to be, in which case he's doing something really tricky ie. tipping an aerial to himself for a breakaway)
