Mate, I've had worse!! I did have a perfect one once... but most of that was luck...

@ray66v Thank you for your post. Why are there not very many videos on YouTube showing the landing that you just described. So many other videos depict miles of side-skidding wheels as virtually no rudder was used during the landing. As a mechanic and pilot, I like to take care of the aircraft, including the tires--not to mention personal safety. Thanks again, I totally agree with you.

wow that was not a proper cross wind landing or any type landing for that matter.

what you have explain is crabbing i always have my nose pointing into the wind all the way down final until i get about 10ft off the ground then i point my into wind wing down to the ground and point the rudder in the opposite direction of the wind for landing

On the 'Captain' issue: the column in the Log book where you put the name of the PIC is headed 'Captain'. Aircraft Commander, Pilot in Command, Captain, it's all one and the same and the right to use any or all of those titles *has been earned* by that pilot's doing his/her first solo.

That was an incredible piece of flying. Well done. I loved your crab and well-timed flare (despite what you think!); Ipersonally don't use the 'wing down' method; I find it too counter-intuitive. That you can land a plane so well in such stinking conditions is a testament to your flying abilities. I also like how you dumped the flaps pretty sharpish so the airplane would 'stick'.

@DirectTech Exactly right!
"A 'good' landing is one from which you can walk away. A 'great' landing is one after which they can use the plane again."

Terrible? Seriously? It wasn't the best crosswind landing ever, but it wasn't "terrible". I was once landing in a stiff crosswind in a 152 and ended up spinning the plane around and almost dragging a wingtip. And since there was no damage to my plane and no one was injured I consider that one on the low side of a "good" landing. For it to be a "bad" landing you have to damage the plane, and "terrible" doesn't start until people get injured.
