Telling people will be awkward, but some people deserve to find out from you. If there's one piece of advice I can give (that every gay person will hate me for), its that you should apologize. When my best friend told me, I wasn't angry that he was gay, but because he didn't trust me enough to tell me sooner. I understand now why he felt he had too, and he didn't owe me an apology, but it would have made my reaction at the time better and helped me cope with this 'new' aspect of his life.

I think we should elope.

Also I wanted to add a link to a coming out video by DaveyWavey that he made for people to send instead of coming out in person. If it didn't work for you it might give you some ideas. I can't seem to put the link in a comment, I keep getting an error mssg. It's on Davey's channel wickydkewl, the vid is called "Mom & Dad: I Have a Secret..." I would be more than happy to listen, offer advice, answer questions etc. any time. Best thing about YouTube is the on-line community available. Good luck.

It's all up to you of course. I started with best friends, then family. I chose people who had been positive when gay issues or people came up & that I trusted not to relay the information until I was ready. The positive responses encouraged me to keep going. I did notice a couple of "friends" (not really obviously) that backed off but in the end I told myself that if they didn't/couldn't accept me then I didn't need them in my life. My existence is not dependent on the approval of others.
First I was transfixed on your voice!
But after a few minutes I realized I should type a comment. *smiles*
I don't think I could tell my parents after all the life's trama they went through with my other siblings. I do hope this adventure your about to set forth on fairs well! I told some friends and my wife (yes my wife always knew, guess that makes me BI, really I would have been completely gay had it not been for her), but no one else as if yet.
GOOD LUCK!!
