This 40 yr male had upper abdominal pain for 3 months. A video-endoscopic examination of esophagus, stomach and duodenum was performed. A large 2.5x2.5 cm chronic ulcer was detected in the first part (bulb) of duodenum. A gastric biopsy was taken for diagnosis of Helicobacter infection and a rapid urease test done which was positive. He received triple therapy (2 antibiotics and acid suppressive drug for one week) to eradicate Helicobacter pylori infection. Ulcer disease showed rapid clinical and endoscopic healing. Eradication of Helicobacter pylori infection led to permanent ulcer cure.

  • @butifarra61 Part 1: Sphincterotomy is basically a minor surgical procedure that is used to repair a chronic anal fissure. An anal fissure is an opening or crack that occurs in the lower half of the anal canal as a result of chronic constipation or crohn's disease. They are painful and can cause spasms which can interrupt blood flow - causing further tissue damage.

  • @butifarra61 Part 2: As for the gastric duodenal embolization, all this is a method to stop a bleeding ulcer by burning the area. In other words if you had an open bleeding wound that will not stop bleeding your last resort is to cook the wound to stop the bleeding.

  • @4bucks08: Through a naturopathic approach it usually takes 8- 16 weeks.

  • @jenjen21ification: Keep in mind that taking nexium, prilosec, pepcid for more than 4 months is unsafe. Plus if you are on antibiotic therapy it must be taken with lactobacillus to prevent C. Diff and other GI problems.
