Yo I hope everyone has enjoyed the recent guest write-ups. Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed. I personally have really enjoyed a lot of this stuff -- so thanks again... and in fact, we have more to come...
I thought I'd send one out this week tho cause I had a bit of an interesting music experience recently... I'm not exactly a morning person -- for instance, when I wake up I don't hop out of bed and like whip open the window curtains, stretch, and grin as I watch the sun slowly rise over Pittsburgh. I kinda lay there like the ppl in the Ambien commercials and think, 'shit, I have to wake up.'
So I always thought it would be great to have one of those alarm clocks that plays music to wake you up... thinking that potentially it would make mornings a little less depressing. Anyways I finally searched online for one and I found out you can just download them for free onto your computer, and it allows you to choose any mp3 on your computer as the alarm. So if you have computer speakers it's pretty tight. In fact, here is the link if you want to download the program:
So anyways it actually has been working pretty well. One day however it didn't exactly wake me up completely cause my computers speakers weren't turned up loud enough... it just woke me up enough that I was in this half asleep half awake period for like 2 hours... where my computer played the song I chose... and then just continued down the order of songs in iTunes... until Jr. Walkers, 'Shotgun' finally woke me up. ;)
That's beside the point tho. During the majority of the two hours that I was in and out of sleeping, I was listening to this AMAZING music, which seemed even more amazing cause of the way my brain was processing it I suppose. but I had no idea what it was... 1) b/c there is a lot of music on my computer that I haven't memorized, and 2) I wasn't really awake so I didn't really know what the hell was going on. So anyways I finally get out of bed and think, 'wait a second, what the hell WAS that?' So I go back and look and it was the Hans Zimmer 'Wings of a Film' album...
That being said, here is a tune from Driving Miss Daisy -- which is actually a great movie. AND this tune starts the beginning of 'Movie Music' on RWM... so what better way to start it off than with the movie music man himself, Hans Zimmer (and in the youtube vid I show some of the movies he's done). No idea how long I'm gonna send out movie music for, but whatever - I thought it would be cool cause there's so much great stuff. Let me know if you'd like to send something... And yes, I was just as surprised as you will be when people start clapping at the end of this song and you realize, wow, that was a live performance... enjoy...

It's soo beautiful! I recently watched Driving Miss Daisy, and it's one of the best movies I've ever seen! So heart-warming. And the theme... <3 Makes a cold and heartless car trip into something so joyful.
i've never seen the full movie driving miss daisy, but what i remember about it is morgan freeman, jessica tandy, awards and the flute at about 1:50. i was flippin channels just now and the movie happened to be on and the 1st thing i thought of was what i consider the theme for the movie. i can't believe that zimmer is so diverse. from the driving miss daisy theme to batman begins, mission impossible 2 etc
