June 2. - U.S. stocks fell one percent on Monday on resurfacing worries the worst of the banking sector is not over and may still threaten the broader economy.
It doesn't matter how deep the ocean is if I can wade. Up, down, stable. The middle class needs some bow thrusters and anchors and wind generator sets. What is America's future role? What does an old factory or old farm do? Many have sold out? Many have bought new machinery? Many have gone into new areas?
The milk and the honey, so far, is all set.
Perhaps this is part of cycle. Bigger boat, lower in the water?
It could be a reduced savings rate and increased debt rate which takes away from real spending dollars as we tie all purchases to credit at 20-30 percent versus encouraging middle class investments and savings for core technologies and resources. We may be in a mature "tanked" economy, with all industries consolidated and mergered or monopolized and therefore dead and gentrified as they take all the air out of the room. LOL go ez governors.
The perfect doldrums seems to be gentification of population, immigrant fears - an engine slowed, expatriation of talent and outsourcing, corporate espinage or teamwork, durable good being pretty bought up, and a fear to make people to educated...as well as...greed, speculation, and fear taking away from real work and real industry lust?
Perhaps we could be the worlds school, hospital, design house, or whatever.
