Note: While we commend the Blue Ribbon Kennels for exceeding industry standards, we think it is important to inform the pet shop customer of the kind of life these dogs live. The cages you will see are where these dogs live 24 hours a day for the rest of their lives. They are never taken out for exercise or interaction with people. Wire floors allow the feces and urine to fall through the cage; automatic feeders allow food to be given to dogs from outside the cage; automatic waterers also allow the dogs to be watered from outside the cage. They must lick a small metal ball repeatedly to release one drop of water at a time.

These minimum standards of care make it possible for a breeder to almost completely avoid touching the dogs except 2-3 times a year when they vaccinate/deworm, when they are placing dogs together for breeding and when a female whelps puppies.

Poor dogs living in cages, pissing, and shitting thru their cages. Dogs do not need to be confined in a little area. They need a yard to run in. If this is what being Blue Ribbon means, I want no part of it. My dogs run my yard and sleep in 10x10 kennels at night. Cruelty is right. Your dogs look miserable.

Guess what , I have adopted some of these puppy mill cast offs , and after about 5 years they still have no social skills , scared of everything , but oh well I do the best I can

I'll be honest: I want to see every one of the verminous scum that runs one of these places hanged. Only a soulless beast would treat dogs (or cats), or any animal that way. This should be illegal everywhere. Unfortunately, the state legislature of MO has so little love of democracy that they've decided to overturn the anti-puppy mill legislation the VOTERS voted into law last year. The tea party is not big on animal rights...

This place may have a "somewhat" clean kennel. However, they're still breeding for profit. This to me and I am sure to a lot of dog owners and dog lovers is PURE GREED and SELFISHNESS. NO DOG should have to go through being bred litter after litter for the SELFISHNESS and GREED of human beings. Please go to a RESPONSIBLE, REPUTABLE, and ETHICAL dog breeder.
