Autism awareness shouldn't be limited to any particular month, time or place. In 2002, Victoria Boland and her mother, Viga Boland, wrote "DON'T GIVE UP ON ME" (the autism song) for the Canadian National Autism Association. When the song was originally made available, Victoria was performing in Hong Kong, hence the opening message on this video. On her return, at the formal CD launch in Hamilton, Ontario, Victoria sung this lovely song accompanied by her current songwriting and professional partner, Andrew Rudd (http://youtube.com/andrewvictoriamusic) That live performance is also listed here on this channel.

This new video is a pictorial interpretation of the originally recorded song, still available via the CNAF at http://www.cnaf.net Please support their efforts and share this video with your friends. Thanks for watching.

  • Where can i find the words to this song?? I love this song!!!

  • @MadeeyaS

Search Google for the site name "the autism song" (can't put url here) and the lyrics are listed on that site which tells you all about the song, how and when it was written, the singer etc.

  • I wish my family was more understanding like some friends are and others' family members seem to be. Sometimes, what I want to say doesn't come out the way I want to. It is easier to type or write my feelings than express them freely and easily as most people. It hurts that they do not understand nor try to. I don't want anyone's pity, I am just letting it all out. This song reveals how much I feel.

Thanks for sharing that with us. You are exactly who this song was written for and about. Your comment means a lot to us. Thank you for telling us we told it as it is.

  • A beautiful song. I too am a folk musician/singer/songwriter. I am also on the spectrum. I wrote 4 autism awareness songs; 3 of them are already on the healthmusic youtube account.
