In this 1955 recording, twenty-eight year old Charles Rosen (1927) performs the first movement of Mozart's Sonata in B flat major, K.333 on the Siena Pianoforte. I created this music video from the LP "The Siena Pianoforte," issued in 1955 by Esoteric Records, serial number ESP 3000. This LP was the first of at least three renditions of this recording to be manufactured in the US.
Movement 1: Allegro
Movement 2: Andante Cantabile - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IyLesRStrYw
Movement 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bj7m7XiQO-Q
With the exception of those of Mozart, all images used in the creation of this video were taken from the LP label and jacket.
From the reverse side of this LP:

one of the most beautiful instruments ever recorded - what was/is its history after the VOX label recording period?

@gnativerson I read recently that the instrument is now in the possession of a private collector in Japan. The previous owner, a fellow who lived in Israel (and who had restored the piano), died in 1980 I believe. best, david
