Alien Swarm - Deima Surface Bridge - 1 Player - 2:40

This is a 1 player solo speedrun attempt of Deima Surface Bridge in Alien Swarm, done in 2:40.

The obvious place where one might shave off a few seconds is naturally first and foremost the fight right outside the hack building, both pre- and post-hack. I found myself getting stomped if I didn't take the time to decimate the horde following me - I wonder if a stun grenade would do the trick if used early enough, but so far I'm out of luck in that department.

Pardon the brief lag at a few places - Fraps and loads of bugs don't quite mix.

Nice video. I was wondering if you are still try to complete a solo speedrun and wanted to compared notesHave you tried using the grenade launcher? On my solo run I managed to get a time of 2:38 with Vegas by premptively blasting some of the horde and then blasting my way out of the building. Also have you tried glitching past the shield bug? I've noticed that after he first kicks the boxes if you approach him he'll sometimes kick you fairly far to the right. Where you land seems pretty random.

@abandonthewolf I've managed a time of 2:38, too, after I uploaded this - that was pretty much done with the same strategy as shown here, only with far more luck and less of a holdup while getting in and out of the building. I haven't tried either the grenade launcher or the shield bug glitch, though -- thanks for the tip! I kinda doubt one will actually be able to cut the run down to 2:30 without some crazy glitches, though, but a man can dream. :)

But theoretically a solo speed run for this mission is possible right? So far only 2 missions is quite possible which is the last 2...

I did the timor station solo speed run today with 4:16 after more than 40 tries -.-'' ....
