Here is a film I helped my friend Enid Chasanoff put together. She is a wonderful artist who created these evocative soft sculptures, then photographed them along a storyline that she eventually narrated. I assembled it in iMovie, then added improvised music by These Are Not My Hands, a group I am a part of. Happy to say it was selected for inclusion in the 2010 New York Short Film Festival.

  • Enid passed away Saturday at the age of 84. She was ready to go, and so she went. I'm grateful for our collaboration and our friendship. From her I learned that creativity, beauty and the Human Spirit are ageless. Please take a moment to revel in the magnificent mystery that is Life.

  • What a creative way to get ready for her death.

I did some art with Enid and will miss her.

  • thank you so much for this film. It was lovely and made me cry. My mother-in-law, Ellen, gave us the link for it.

  • Charming, simply wonderful on so many levels. Thank you. D.

  • What an amazing artist, very touching and well done. I read an article about this film in the Marinscope and loved her line "I see beauty and potential. I see what things should become instead of what they are"

  • I much prefer death to be in the form of a gentle black horse than a skeleton in a black hood. This is a beautiful film.

  • Quite a wonderful work of art. I enjoyed it very much.

  • This is so very warm and wonderful. I've watched it several times. It takes me to memories of my Mom & Dad. I was with her when she heard his call.

Thanks to all involved in this sweet piece.
