Zelda Ocarina of Time: Goron City Remix

This was made as something of a request by.... someone, I'll add that later. Said someone complained about my comments, and suggested I make a remix then if I'm so awesome at it. (note: I am not SO awesome, but I do know something about remixing) I said, sure, whatever, any song in particular? And here we are now, with this one.

On a side note, I should have remixed it in trance so show how trance should be mixed (or at least mixed better than the trance remix I complained about). Maybe I'll make like that as well.

Anyway, about the remix: I wrote an original bassline for it, used a combination of kalimba and marimba instead of the vibraphone/marimba use in the original. Also used was a noise-based shaker (really a synth), a filtered noise with the filter tied to note pitch, and two sets of drum kits.

Since it's a one-day project, it's not without its flaws. Some timing issues in the recorded marimba and kalimba parts are a little too off to sound good, and mixing chromatic percussion is always a little tricky, finding the right balance of compression and volume.

As should be obvious from the text in the vid, this was made by me, and I' considering working it into a ReMix suited for OCR (www.ocremix.org).

Not all of them are junk just because they're electronic. ;) But yeah, I'm pretty happy about this one myself, it stands out as something different.
