TSP historic story part 4.
"And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. With your mind power, your determination, your instinct, and the experience as well, you can fly very high" Ayrton Senna.
Clips from "The official tribute to Senna" - "Ayrton Senna memories and mementoes from a life lived at full speed" by Christopher Hilton and my own archives..
This is a memento for all "stiff" drivers who were on stage 1980.

  • In the film Senna (2010), when asked who was the best driver that he had pleasure of raced against, Senna answered: "Terry Fullerton, in 1978-1980, my teammate in the kart. He was very experienced, fast and steady, a complete driver. And it was just driving, pure driving, pure racing, there was not policies, no money involved. It was real racing. It is a great memory for me. "

That was, in my opinion, a very strong message for the current F1drivers

    I miss you Senna.......

  • @rockinchair1964

I was part of the Belgian team in that race, actually raced under number 16, standing next to Ayrton in the drivers line up - not on the podium :-(

I still have pictures and other related items of that race. Let me know if you're interested in sharing - jan_peeters@credence.be

  • Thanks for the upload friend. It is wonderful to see this. =)

  • I visited Nivelles several times in te nineties when it was neglected. I made there many pictures including from the kart track. Unfortunately I never saw it in it's good years. The fate of Niveles inspired me also to make a webside about lost circuits.

  • addio grande unico vero campione,la tua vita è stata segnata da un maledetto destino ma,sarai sempre un grande pilota con un cuore d'oro.

  • Hi Eric,

I was the guy who was with you , when you helped me on my lemco kart..

Your uncle had a music shop in Nivelles. Right?

The name of Didier was "dingo".

The "panthers". And I was with Francois Goldstein in the Red Point karting club.

On the video we can see Busschots of the "Berlaar karig club".

    Souvenir...

  • Nice video!, what is the first and second song?

    Thanks a lot

  • I was there too! I was Didier Theys's best friend (Dominique Dumont) nephew.

I 've been driving my uncle's competition kart at saterday afternoon on this track for 4 years to make the set-ups for sunday races. After these time, we've done years of rallyes where we met Paul Fraikin who became a friend...Just type "Dominique Dumont" in the search bar...

Now? The track is dead, Ayrton's dead, Dom's dead... But Happily there're passionnates peoples to share precious docs like this! Thanks a lot.

  • to finish first you first need to finish special in a event as worldchampionship (one race event) the factor luck is a big factor. remembering this well as we where in the lead of the worldchampionship and our rotary valve broke and chrashed the whole engine
