  • This is a great demonstration of the battery swap. Totally cool. Very fast. Much easier than filling gas.

  • This could also be made way faster in the future :) I like..

  • Looks nice, but I doubt every car will come with a system like that to have in your garage.

  • The shape of things to come! Finally.

  • Go Better Place!

  • @anubis9109 This is one company, better place. It is there standard that the stations are being built to and they are the only ones building the stations so that's that I suppose. Do different car manufactures have different pumps to pump gas?

  • So all they have to do is agree on a standard for battery size, dimensions, and orientation, as well as how the battery hooks into the cars and where everything is placed.

  • i hope electric cars catch on with the masses so i can enjoy my mustang, 335i an mv agusta

  • I love ma 5.4L V12 engine <3

  • @katakisLives About the queues: The idea is to charge at home on a regular basis and use battery swap stations only for long journeys. Both methods are included in the purchased mileage. Therefore, these stations won't need the same capacity as gas stations.

  • The latest battery swapping station implemented in Japan even does the swapping in merely 59 seconds. Wow! Just Wow! I really, really, really want one of those cars ;-) And imagine, when we got to have an EV van with a flatbed, you can even sleep in the car with the air-conditioning on while the car is plugged in while charging overnight. That's free mobile hotel right there. Wow, just wow!!!

  • That it the business! once they get enough of these charging stations on the ground we'll finally have the infrastructure in place to roll out thousands of electric cars! I wonder how much it costs each time you do this? and they'd need a row of them, otherwise imagine the queues outside one of these!
