Mel Larsen has claimed that his Larsen RADAX engine has set the word record in thermal efficiency for an engine. The Larsen RADAX is an 8-cylinder, 2-stroke, 300 horsepower Internal Combustion Engine that has an efficiency range of 45 - 54 percent, which far exceeds the 20 - 30 percent efficiency of a standard gasoline engine.

  • It's been out for years info wise...nothing has been done yet

  • @xparatrpr yeah mr camera man... F !

  • We could do with this technology in South Africa where a predominantly public service provider is the Taxi Industry (mini bus). Unfortunatley they have a bad reputation regarding aspects of the Ind. service and carbon foot print being a major problem. Alot of these people are low wage earners so economy could be a benefit.

  • It should be possible to develop one from scratch with the right person/people working on it. We know it's possible. There is enough loose information to figure it out. BTW, who ever stole the engine et al, can't bring it to market anywhere in the world. And it will not stop others from following up. Did he publish any papers on his engine?

Thanks for the video. Next stop Techshop!

  • We Love it. Lets get together and help save the US!?

  • I want to invest. Have some one get a hold of me.

  • Is the camera man actually LanceMJoseph?

I have a positive feeling reading his cool reply to shut up :P

  • I attended Roy's hydrogen class back in 2002. At that time, I figured it would only be 2-3 years before we would see production models. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it will ever happen. Is there any news on moving to production?

  • 1 more thing it would appear that a company called axial vector is making something very similar if not same, but theres runs on liquids mostly but this design is so versitile it can run on methane propane or even compressed air, axial vector is now known as avec corp
