Wow - thanks for posting this great clip from the Country Gold Music Festival, held for over 25 years in the beautiful Aspecta amphitheater in Kumamoto. The gentleman who taught me pedal steel guitar while I lived in Japan (Takashi Ozaki) would sometimes play at this event. Attracting names like Emmy Lou, Roger Miller, Marty Stewart and others, this venue on the beautiful island of Kyushu has long been an elusive destination for me. I'm moving to Shanghai soon and hope to attend this year.

Emmy Lou has always been this amazing cross over between country and rock. I had her CD and listened to in in my flat in Oxford in 1980. Like you, I hated, "country" but I loved Emmy-Lou and still do. She carries on crossing over. Like my other heroine Linda Ronstadt they just do what they do and it works.
