About the One Village Project
The One Village Project unites local, refugee, immigrant and international youth, in an effort to create a community of leaders who are dedicated to global peace and inspired to serve the world one need at a time.

For refugee and immigrant youth who have survived war and the hardships of extreme poverty, One Village offers a solid foundation of healing, support and community as they adjust to life in the United States. The Village includes youth from Iraq, Afghanistan, Cuba, Somalia, Bhutan, Iran, Burma, Colombia, Congo, El Salvador, Guatemala, Kenya, Tibet, Cote d'Ivoire, Nepal, Nigeria, Burundi, South Africa, Mexico, India, Yemen, Thailand, the United Kingdom and the United States, and it keeps growing every year. For American youth, One Village awakens a global perspective by offering real connection with young people from around the world while highlighting the unifying thread within us all. The One Village Project begins each year with the Global Youth Peace Summit, a weeklong overnight conference for youth ages 13-18. Following the completion of the Summit, the Village meets monthly, determines where they would like to serve and works together to put compassion into action through service projects benefiting their local communities.
