David Archuleta - Altnoy @ the y100 underground!

David was the secret artist for the y100 underground. He performed altnoy and crush. Sorry about the terrible quality, but it was really dimly lit in the place and my camera is not that great! :D

Wonderful video. David's voice simply soars in this one. Must have been in the afternoon as he sounds nice and warmed up. Love the new runs and changes....just shows how comfortable he's getting with peforming this acoustically.

YES! This is the best version of altnoy to date imo! This was at about 4:30 :) The changes in the 2nd verse were great. He is surely getting more and more comfortable doing these songs acoustically

Horrible?? I very respectfully disagree. It's one thing to sing well with full accompaniment behind you.....It's another thing all together to sing wonderfully with very little, if any, embellishment. It's times like these that I feel the real essence of David's talent really shines through. A full band is great but hearing the very different mood of this song as presented by David and David alone (haunting, soulful and melancholy) is just as satisfying, to me anyway.

His voice is amazingly wonderful, but this song is horrible without a rhythm section.

I think performing in front of these small crowds is a wonderful way for David to experiment and hone his craft. He is still learning this "concert stuff" and this really gives a fairly safe platform prior to hitting the road and he really seems to enjoy performing before these intimate audiences. Sure wish I could've been there!
