It's taken so long, but bass cover #2 is here at last! I was originally going to do I Hate Everything About You but decided to do Walk of Life instead due to the lack of bass covers for it and it is a more challenging song. I'm really sorry it's taken this long, I actually attempted this a couple of months ago but there was too much background noise and I made too many mistakes and then procrastination and exams got in the way. Like the last cover, a couple of errors towards the end unfortunately and not very good sound quality (you can hear fret sliding).

Notes:
1. I have been playing bass for about a year and a half now so I am a bit more experienced compared to when I did my last bass cover.
2. I used the tab from the Bass Tab White Pages. You can buy this great book at many good music shops or you can try your luck on torrents or other sources (please note I am NOT encouraging illegal activity however). Otherwise 911tabs.com should have what you need.
3. Equipment used: same as first cover (Yamaha RBX170 bass, Fender Rumble 15 watt bass amp).
4. Check out my first cover here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZrOHZhmyc0
5. Please subscribe if you like my videos. Once my HSC exams finish in early November, there will be a stack of covers coming with no excuses for being busy!
6. Be sure to check my bass and band covers playlist or MegaOliverMusic's page for band covers that I may be in as well. There is currently one (Otherside by Red Hot Chili Peppers) with more to come.

  • hey, i have the same bass as you the Yamaha rbx170 right? have you adjusted the string height? im new to bass but they feel a little high. are the strings in your bass stock height or have you adjusted them?

  • @jvnation yes my bass is a yamaha rbx170. My strings were a little high so I lowered a bit. I believe you should lower them if you find you have to press the frets down quite hard to play cleanly. I'm sure there are plenty of sites and videos on youtube that can help you though or go to a music shop. Make sure you tune your strings after raising/lowering the action too as they probs got out of tune.

  • Hey you might want to try using a tripod and video editing software

  • @Uberbizmeister Not sure if I have a tripod actually. And the video camera I have I believe wasn't working when I tried it so I used the webcam on the laptop.

  • Why so serious? You look like your about to take an arrow to the knee. Joking aside just relax and take it easy.

  • hey relax! you anguish me

    cool cover by the way

  • good!

  • Some pieces of advice: For god sake RELAX! You are so tence! Try to learn the song in a way that you dont have to look at the frets every secont of the song. Trust yourself to hit it if you know how to play.

  • thx for the response ya ill look up how to do that (subed)

  • the buzzing is louder than the music, other than tht though. pretty cool =D
