what makes you think it has a bushing on the rod? I do the conversions including putting needle bearings on the rod and a hardend pin in the crank so they will run 50:1 as long as any other gas engine. These engines will put out more than the dle 30 and fit a smaller footprint and are more reliable. you are makeing an asumption about something unknown to you .maybe you didn't know how to do the conversion properly to get good results, I would suggest you try again but do the full conversion .

nice engine,but too heavy to use on aerobatic planes,also having a bush on the conrod means you have to use more oil, 50:1 will kill it for sure in the air,with glow it works cooler,petrol hotter,so you need something like 20% oil,so at the end I found it was a good experiment with mine, but not reliable,underpowered,heavy and messy,cure cheap dle30 3.7hp and just 1300grams, with all
