Kowiana's "Kimchi & Marmite" conference will be held this year in July!
Our theme for 2008 is: "What does it mean to be a Korean-New Zealander?"
The conference is open to all Kowis and the wider NZ public aged 18-25 years, who are interested in the values and goals of the Kowiana Association of NZ.
We will cover issues around:
- Establishing the Kowi identity
- What does it mean to be a Kowi
- Becoming more 'Kowi-literate'
- Inter-generationalism/bilingualism: focussing on issues relating to Kowis caused by gaps in generations and cultures
- Intercultural relationships: raising awareness of multicultural issues in the family, friendships and wider NZ society
Registration opens 27 May 2008
