Russell Archey, MAME, DS, and PSP Referee for Twin Galaxies, gets the world record on Glass Joe (Contender) in Punch-Out!! for the Nintendo Wii at 26.49 seconds. This is the abridged version, as the multiple attempts at this took approximately one hour.
I recorded a 25.76 with the Wii boot up. It's on VHS though, so could I transfer the footage to a DVD via a DVD recorder that has a VHS to DVD copying feature?
This would make compiling all my videos much more convienient, and would save me on shipping.

Don't feel discouraged if you can't get it yet; it's really tough to get the timing down correctly. Just keep trying, and eventually you'll start running into sub 26.49 times.

I noticed the video as I was recording some attempts and tried many times, but I just can't get the timing down. I did once but my timing was off everywhere else it didn't do much. I'm thinking that's how I got my 26.24 I didn't record.

Yeah, he recorded a 25.76 now.
I have to catch up with him, but I have a 25.88 recorded with the proper boot up.
Can I ask something? Could I record the initial footage on VHS, but then transfer it to a DVD?
Sending a DVD is so much easier than sending a VHS shipping-wise, but I don't own a DVD recorder.

Yeah it's my vid, I need to film it properly per your requirements, then i'll be sending my Donkey Kong, TD Hondo and my Glass Joe sometime this week.

I'm not sure if kefkamaydie followed the recording requirements for you guys. It's still a very weird strategy, so we're still practicing it to where it could be done consistently. I just wanted to let you know in case you guys were interested in how to get sub 26.49 times.
Maybe later this year when I get a DVD recorder, I'll submit some official recordings to you too.

And they are going to submit it to us for official verification and recognition as a World Record? We'd love to see it sent our way by the gamer.

Look for a video of 25.94. There's one on youtube now.

I got a 25.94 now!
You should find kefkamaydie's video of Glass Joe, since he recorded his 25.94.

You can get lower than .49 if you time a bunch of failed hooks after he backs to the ring. I got a 26.06 this way.
