I am a new tenant to Ft Greene Housing and to Housing in general. In response to one of the comments. Usually when you vacate an apartment for renovations, you expect to return to that apartment in a set amount of time. I observed these empty apartments for 2 years, I have lived here for 2 years additional years and the apartments are still empty. That is a total of 4 years I don't know how many years in total that they have been empty but you can tell it has been a lot longer than 4 years.

Sad to say soon all of New York will be for the rich only! Born and raised here from the lower east side I have seen 5 story walk up apartment torn down and condos go up and the real new yorkers sent to the Bronx. The lower east side is yuppie town and soon Chinatown will be all white and it's sad but true. NYCHA let's us live like 2nd class citizens, there should have there parents live in one of these apartments.

Ten minutes of video with about one minute of real content. I get it - you say nycha is warehousing 900 apartments. And what does nycha say about it? Didn't they have to vacate the apartments to perform major renovations? And won't the people coming back in have the same requirements for public housing as those that left? There's no investigative journalism in this video - just rabble-rousing claims. Let's hear both sides and then we can make a decision as to what the situation is.
