You should hone out the cylinder, change the rings and bearings and restore her! Antique Briggs here, it would be worth it!

do you have a idea on how to adjust the idle on a old (1960-1980) briggs 5 hp?

@labrieexpert2000 If the fuel/air mixture screw is adjusted properly, you just adjust the small flathead screw on the throttle lever on the carb

I found one of these but it's rusty and seized. Is it worth fixing?

@MrMoto1998 If you are thinking about earning money, it's not worth it. At least it's hard to earn money on it, but if you want to learn about engines and/or restore a classic engine, it's worth it.
