@EeezyCheeezy I drive a big, wide, heavy minivan and I disagree with you. Cyclists who follow the rules of the road have every bit as much of a right to the road as you or me. Key phrase however, is FOLLOW THE RULES OF THE ROAD. If this crash was the cyclist's fault, I hope the driver isn't held responsible just because he's in a truck.

@bcnewsvideo Everybody has to be alert no matter if you are a cyclist, car driver or just a passerby...I almost got hit in the head by a nut driving so fast...geeez!

How do we know that the cyclist didn't hit the truck?

Honestly, how can a biker NOT see a rig?

I don't think the cyclist made it, the ambulance was in no hurry to leave. As a cyclist myself, I can never assume the driver sees me. It is safest to stay clear of big vehicles like these.

@TheCoalescent Common sense should tell you to never use the shoulder to pass a semi. I'm not sure about this specific video, but there was a similar case of a cyclist attempting to pass a semi on the shoulder, even though the semi was already in the process of turning. There was also a mother who killed her child, when she began crossing despite the fact that there was a semi trailer directly in front of her. She pushed her child and stroller forward, and they were struck by the back wheels.

good thing he wasent hit by a whole truck, I hope he is ok
We all have to keep are eyes open when we are on the road today I went to turn around in a parking lot and when I pulled back onto the road I almost hit a guy that was riding his bike on the side walk so remember to always be aware of what's around you
