  • I'm dying to know if you've sold this sax...

  • ungladfully I do have to admit that I actually sold my beloved 6m VIII !!

Now I'll be able to judge if there's a life possible without it.

What's left is a feeling of emptyness!

As you can see- world economic crisis is hunting down saxophone-players, too.

  • I have a 6m too 1947, I had it overhauled in France. They were so proud when I came back to get it they were showing it in the front window! DONT SELL IT! You are so lucky, guys offered me to trade selmers for mine , NO WAY! the warmth and texture of the sound from those lady faces is something you wont get from any other horns. And when I make it growl it can get meaner than any selmer too! I wish I could buy yours, but honestly, I prefer to tell you to keep it and cherish this jewel!

  • As I´m young- I need the money;) but right now I´m thinking it over and over...

  • I would die for a sax like that

  • I have a 6M and it's better in every way than any Mark VI I've ever played. Will NEVER trade or sell it for a Selmer.

  • keep practicing and practicing and practicing and practicing

  • sorry i havent replied. google "conn saxophone serial number" and you should have your answer

  • love the rendition of misty

  • SaxophoneProductions the serial number on my alto sax is N 60111.Made in Mexico.

  • Nice playing, nice horn. Following on from comments re the shooting star, I have recently bought 1959 silver plated 14m, and I am so amazed with the tone. For the same money I would only be able to buy half a second hand student yamaha. It beats a student yamaha to bits for sound. The nostalgia counts for something as well.

  • Yeah, my primary alto is a YAS-82Z, But my back up is a 1970 Conn Shooting star, and I agree with 'conn6m'. The Shooting Star saxes are really underrated. Mine plays great!

  • Life will not be possible without it. Sorry but that is the truth. Your life from this moment on will be misery and longing. You will probably become the blues singer we all see on street corners crying out notes of lost love and regret whilst the greedy bankers look out there windows down on you. 'There lies the product of our labours' they say. 'A broken heart and empty life'.

  • Shooting stars are really underrated saxes. I hear all these stories about them being poor saxes and bad intonation and they are all false. I've played a few of them and they were all good. The Conn 6m above is basically better quality finished and much faster action. The shooting star is an excellent choice for a beginner . I think they are worth little because a lot were made. My king zepther sax is inferior to the shooting star even though its worth more.
