Ullis, vappu 2008, Retuperän WPK

Retuperän WPK soittaa Ullanlinnanmäellä vappuna 2008. Pariskunta tanssii valssia, RWPK:n soiton tahdissa. Ylioppilaslakkeja ja teekkarilakkeja sankoin joukoin, perinteinen vappupiknik Ullanlinnanmäellä.

First of may is a special day not only for the workers but also for the current and the graduated university students in Finland. This clip is shot in Ullanlinna park, in Helsinki, where university students and alumni gather together for a picnic every 1st of May starting around nine o´clock. People are wearing the traditional black and white cap of a secondary school graduates (matriculates). Those who are studying in, or have graduated from a university of technology (typically HUT) have a bit different cap: they also have a tassel attached to their cap (more info: http://esn.tky.fi/?q=en/teekkarilakki).
