The attract mode of SCUD Race, also known as SEGA Super GT in North America.
The game runs on the SEGA Model 3 board, Step 1.5.
SCUD Race is the first ever Model 3 racing game, and it was released in 1996, shortly afterwards the release of Virtua Fighter 3.
An uncommon realism came when SCUD Race was released: the power of the new hardware permitted a realistic physics of the cars with real-time shading, an even more realistic environment, and for the first time, two additional speakers were added on the seat. This allowed a Surround sound system, so the player could hear the engine roaring like if he really was inside a race car.
The game features four tracks (two of them are for Beginners), and four cars, licensed by the BPR Organisation (actual FIA GT Championship), which are the Porsche 911, the Ferrari F40, the Dodge Viper and the McLaren F1.
SCUD Race was then re-released in 1997, once again for the arcades, as SCUD Race Plus (or SEGA Super GT Plus in the U.S.), with an additional Super Beginner track and four hidden...let's say "vehicles".
A Dreamcast port was planned for this game (and several graphical demos featuring the game's stages were shown), but for unknown reasons SEGA cancelled the project.
NOTE: Video taken from MAME version 0.119. The sound was missing, so I added it myself.
