This is my favorite scene from the 1999 HBO film RKO 281...

The movie is about a young Orson Wells trying to make/finish Citizen Kane and William Randolph Hearst trying to stop it...

In this scene Orson Welles (Liev Schreiber), Herman J. Mankiewicz (John Malkovich), and Gregg Toland (Liam Cunningham) discuss Hearst's latest ploy to stop Citizen Kane, while Bernard Herrmann (Kerry Shale) Scores the final scene in Kane...

*warning some language*

P.S. i don't own this scene,... i just love it....

  • Great actor Liev Schreiber

  • Good actor for Bernard Herrmann... but they always seem to have trouble getting conducting right.

  • RKO?

  • RKO?

  • @cinerama62 naw, I looked that one up already. I'm thinking it's not listed on the only list I could find of the soundtrack. Thanks though.

  • @alicesqueeks I'm pretty sure it's "By The Fireside" Performed by Al Bowlly with Ray Noble and His Orchestra.

  • Does anyone know what song plays during the end credits of this film?

  • This is one of my fav. movies of all time. A movie about the making of another movie, ha.

  • Is there any way you could post the scene(s) with Fiona Shaw as Hedda Hopper?
