This is the Countdown produced clip Whispering Your Name which only spent 1 week in the Australian Top 100, at position 100 on May 30 1983. It is a superb piece of Oz synth music and should have done much better. This appeared on Countdown March 20 1983 in an episode that Ignatius hosted and is a better clip than the official video.
KICK ASS!

Anyone got the 12" version - it's even better by memory.

I found out this was written and released by Jules Shear on his 1983 album Watch Dog. Ignatius must have done a pretty quick post-release cover, or else was offered it prior to release.
It was later covered by Alison Moyet, and reached number 18 in the British charts in 1994.
I agree that Ignatius' synth-heavy version is very good. It hasn't really dated.
