Pianist Olga Stezhko performs the Piano Sonata No. 7, opus 64, subtitled "White Mass Sonata" by Alexander Scriabin (1911) Scriabin reportedly wrote the work as an exorcism against his sixth sonata, which he considered corrupted by demonic forces. The mood of the seventh sonata was intended to be ecstatic, hence the subtitle
"White Mass".

  • Yes! Love the speed....

explosive ending and flying "winged" sections

    yeah!

  • Excellent way of playing the piano... I like the fingering she uses. This level of performance is rare among new musicians. The only thing is that for me it could have a little more mystery; a little more crystalline sound which Scriabin needs.

  • I think this pianist plays some sections a little too fast, but I admire her ability to bring out the melodies even when she flies through it.
