The Dark Eye - Drakensang - Gameplay Part 2

Das Schwarze Auge - Drakensang

A gameplay video of the new german game "Drakensang", which isn't out for English users, yet (the Releasedate is what, January ?).
So I will translate it, because I'm ze ubermensch. The video is cut into 5 parts.

I recorded the introduction letter at a new start of the game and cut directly before you arrive in Ferdok. This way we don't have to see the damn long tutorial area. My two companions at the start are Rhulana (Amazon) and Dranor (Strayer). The gameplay goes until I finish the talisman quest.

I bought the game on August 1st and it was worth every €. It comes very close to games like Baldur's Gate.

@jassidoe What you have described this games as, quite rightly is a real RPG. What you said about Dragon Age, quite rightly is that it is not a real RPG but something more action orientated. What would you think of this game is, like Dragon Age, it only had fast travel, with no gameworld to explore?!

I like this game. Sure, it isn't action-filled like, for example Dragon Age, which i also played and liked. They are different, but both great: in my opinion, you have a great role play experience, 'cause you start as a noob (i played a thief and man he sucked in the beginning) and develop some nice skills over time. sure, they still are quite weak, but this game is, for me, about atmosphere, not action. kurz: ich mags, weil es stimmung hat, für action spiele ich andere games :)

@UnevenPieces Personally I like the DSA system, what I always disliked about D&D is the silly progression. Level 1 you have 4-10 hitpoints, which means a single strike will usually kill you but then as you level up you can take repeated hits with an axe no problem. It just felt weird and unbalanced. Then again I haven't really played either since 2002 so maybe the newer D&D editions are better I don't know.

And for the record if you want a true RPG experience, don't play computer RPGs ;)

@xantir Didnt see any human warrior companions in NWN2, only human paladin, No human warriors is DA or The Witcher not in KotOR-s. Only Baldurs Gate had human "warrior" companions i think if under warrior you mean fighter class :P
