FINALLY, I had all the parts to make both the SunTracker and the CamBot, PLUS we had a (somewhat) sunny day.

This is about 7 hours of runtime with pictures taken at 60 second intervals. I'm not sure why it doesn't move early on--sun not bright enough? At the end the sun disappeared so the tracker must have been pointing up at the brightest spot it could find: the blank sky. The shadows on the ground are moving a lot faster than the tracker, but that's just an artifact of mathematics--the shadows are caused by really tall (relative to the tracker) objects, so they have high linear speeds for the same angular one.

I'm actually not all that impressed with the result, but this stupid project has been monopolizing my Lego parts for too long, so whatev.

  • This is amazing.

  • Conceptually more amazing than the actual result. I'm thinking I'll leave the cambot together for other projects but disassemble <strike>Number 5</strike>SunTracker.
