The Gayatri Mantra is the best mantra in awakening our dormant consciousness. It adds light to the practitioner every time it is recited thus creating a shield of protection. The mantra can be used for many purposes: for healing, cleansing, blessing, energizing food etc.

The Gayatri Mantra has a long and a short form. The long form relates to its use in deeper practices. The short form is the most commonly known.

Stephen Turoff teaches the long version which connected to certain breathing techniques and yoga practices can eventually lead to enlightenment in this lifetime.
