Recorded at Hammersmith Odeon, London December, 1984. Cold Warning/White Noise.

I've been waiting for you
I've waited far too long
Do you wanna come with me now?

And this is my story
My face, the picture's changed
Do you remember me?
Now I'm fighting to breathe
It's been such a long time

Do you wanna come with me now?

Nothing here for me now
I can't believe the noise
We'll take this place apart
I won't be here for long
I know they'll find me soon

Do you wanna come with me?
Do you wanna c-c-c-c-c-c come come come come
I'll question everything
I'll trade new dreams for old
I've been waiting for you
I've waited far too long
I've been waiting, I've been waiting
Do you wanna come with me now?

Now the weakness comes
I'll question everything
I'll trade new dreams for old
I've been waiting for you
I've waited far too long

Do you wanna come with me now?
I've been waiting for you
I've waited far too long
I've been waiting for you
I've waited far too long
Do you wanna come with me
Do you wanna come?

  • @janbillian Thank God there are performers willing to step out side of the boring molds that some would have everyone fit into. The imagery is just as important as the music. David Bowie also pushed the edge with visual imagery. Is conformity and being boring really that great?

  • Numan in his finest hour.

  • Sheez! I was in London in December 1984. I booked to see loads of bands but obviously missed out on this gem. I love his style.

  • Got to admit, being a teenage lad with bleached blonde/ red streak/ blue hair etc etc i didnt like Garys look with Berserker era very much, but always thought Berserker was a classic Numan track, and would have been more suited to the Telekon era. I did like my jet black hair with red side streak look, with the belts.

  • bloody amazing!!...saw him for the first time a couple of weeks ago at Hatfield..blew me away totally, wish i'd stayed with hismusic through the years now...got caught up in the anti-Numan hype back then, I suppose..shame...very underrated and misunderstood bloke

  • @DavidFullam I wouldnt lol alot of those groups were crappy, sure you got some greats like Foxx or Numan (altho they were more in the electronic area and more experimental), but guys like Human League, Soft Cell and that junk, ugh, ill pass.

  • I think I would sell my soul to bring back the New Wave/Nu Romantic movements.

  • Best of Numan. For me this is peak, not telekon, i just LOVE this album and this tour.

  • I love the image here and certainly a great setlist. one o f the only older concerts Numan is proud of.

  • @leonakita Although I've only listened to some of his material, nothing I've heard from NIN or his solo efforts e.g. 'Berlin Bowiesque offshoots like Ghosts' do I find impressive or on par with Numan or Bowie. Again ,alot is personal taste and we're talking basically, 3 diff periods/generations in fans and styles, Bowie was experimental in a synth/ambient atmospheric way, Numan in an electronic/cold atmospheric way, and Reznor in Industrial /metal atmospheric kinda way. They all overlap a bit

  • @leonakita There are some for whom Numans' early "The Plan" days are trash, for others it's the Beggars Banquet days or the NUMA label and IRS days, still for others, the present "Industrial" stuff. Who's right then? If you ask Numan or Bowie what they think of fans who like their music that they particularly don't, I'm sure they wouldn't say these fans are WRONG in their liking of said music. Yet AGAIN, it all boils down to personal taste. There's music for all tastes and points of view.......

  • @leonakita Just because HE says that, that doesn't make it so for everybody. There are millions of people out there for whom Bowie's 80's music is their favorite. You can't deny this. Just because YOU see things from a certain point of view, doesn't make it so for everyone. Look at Gary and his distaste for some of the mid 80's and 90's albums he put out. Does that mean that just cause HE thinks that way, all his fans think that way? Obviously not. No ONE point of view is THE RULE. Fact of life.
