About Siberian Appeal

Siberian Appeal was founded in 2008 to aid a public children's
hospital ( the Altai Regional Children's Hospital - ARCH ) in Barnaul,
Siberia. The hospital uses mainly communist-era equipment
( i.e. in intensive care units ) and is in great need for newer and updated
equipment in order to be able to treat their patients adeqautely. As well
as this, the hospital falls well below the accepted level of environmental
criteria set by the World Health Organisation in all areas. The hospital
receives extremely limited funding which is only enough to cover wages,
logistics and other minor factors. Siberian Appeal's aim is to raise
funds and awareness for ARCH: in order to empower the hospital to be
able to treat their patients in a way that is suitable of the 21st century
and to raise awareness about the situation and diffuculties these children
face with the aim of improving conditions for hospitalised children all
across Siberia. Siberian Appeal operates out of the UK.

Siberian Appeal has started in 2011 to raise funds for the
purpose of purchasing hospital equipment from various
hospitals in the UK and abroad. We are still looking for "partner
hospitals". If you have equipment that you may not need, please
contact us via the contact page. Purchasing equipment ( or other
items from ARCH's list of required inventory ) and transferring
it to ARCH is the best, safest and most efficient approach to aid
the hospital. This way, Siberian Appeal does not need to rely on
any third party figures in Barnaul to be responsible for your
donations. Staff we know personally at ARCH handle equipment
delivery and implementation. From 2008 until now, SA has mainly
focused on gathering information, establishing contacts and
raising awareness for ARCH. Any private or fundraising event
donations hitherto have been placed in the SA fund, awaiting
execution in purchasing hospital equipment.

Our purpose is to make ARCH a capable, high standard hospital
capable of giving children the healthcare they deserve with all the
means that today's world has to offer. We believe that no child should
be excluded or have financial barriers determine their health and life.
Achieving this goal is not difficult. With the right knowledge, know-how,
partners, and of course, amount of funds, Siberian Appeal can make
a difference. ARCH has an inventory list, which provides information
on what is currently required at the hospice. Until at least some of these
items are provided, children at ARCH are seriously disadvantaged, and
if things turn for the worse, they can only try other hospitals hundreds of
miles elswhere, where the situations are unfortunately similar. Siberian
Appeal will give the children at ARCH the chance to be treated well
and adequately, putting an end to their worries as well as those of their
families'. And above all, SA will enable them to grow up happily and
healthily, a right which is inalienable to every child around the world.
