Hi Simon, I was looking for the flower pots that you gave Josie and I came across this video. Question, I see a bunch of Bats on the rack behind you, why don't you use a Bat and avoid the newspaper and fingerprints??
HI simon. Please keep us advised on how you plan to change the pot color at biscuit stage. My clay is the same pinkish, but hated it, so fired it on up to get the nice toasty brown, but of course must be carefull not to drown plants in the nonporus pots. Excellent camera person by the way! It´s like meditation watching you trow on the wheel. Do you have to have strong hands to center this size of clay lump, or is it pure technique? OK, I know. I have to practice, Maybe I´ll manage one day.
Simon - do you just bisque these or are you firing to a high cone? Would they be frost proof? I think Whichford fire their earthenware to 1000 and say they're frost proof.
Also... if you were to glaze them, would you just do them on the outside or both? Worried about water not being able to escape if just outside.
So many questions... but it's a good idea and I'm going to have a go soon.

Exactly, which is why you monitor the moisture of the soil in the pot. Less water is required than in a taracotta pot.

Didn't Guy give you a large rib for flower pots?

How would you drown a plant in a nonporus pot. It has a hole. In addition, aren't 90%of flower pots made today a nonporus plastic?

Throwing flower pots is a great way to celebrate Spring.
Good information in this video. Pulling with the knuckle is a real challenge for me, but I know it gives added strength when pulling bigger projects.
