Sell the USPS to a corporation? But corporations are only out for pure greed! Delivery of mail is a public good. It should be off limits to greed and dollar-chasing - PERIOD!

look at all these idiots, let's just ignore the PAEA of 2006 and that without that insane law the postal service would have a $1.5 billion surplus

@natepepin09 This is bs, try getting UPS or Fedix to deliver your letter for .44 cents. Bush passed a law that required the Post Office to fund retirement account and health for the next 75 years in 10. This law was passed in 2006 and cost the Post Office 5.5 billion every year! UPS donated heavily to the Republicans. They can get your letter to you for over $11.00. UPS won't deliver to your Grandma in areas where there is no profit. Is that more efficient!

How will I invite people to my wedding if there is no longer mail service?

Napolitano is a smart mofo.

The Postal Service is NOT tax subsidized, with the exception of overseas voter cards and certain mailing privileges for the disabled. 99% of their budget comes from selling postage.
They ARE currently BORROWING money from the US Treasury to cover their cost overruns. It will be interesting to see how they plan to stay under the mandated $15 billion borrowing cap that they are close to hitting.
FedEx commonly uses them to move parcels too.
Not trying to defend them. Just the facts, kids.

I hate the post office. knowing that, I make two points on this situation. one, does the post office help bring down costs of private delivery services by offering a baseline for mail delivery? and secondly, would an all private entity mail delivery service have a potential to create censorship based on the company's desires? I feel certainly that it makes sense to eliminate the USPS vs trying to reform it to profitability.
I think Judge Napolitano is one of the better interviewers I've seen because he lets his guests talk. The trend in most interviews seem to be to cut off the other person constantly when they are trying to explain something.

the worst thing about the USPS is the employees, only exceeded by the DMV in their inability to work. while we all bust our asses (private sector)...and still get fired or jobs shipped to Chindia. these guys chat with their colleague, while you wait...behind 20 other people waiting to finally get your "1 minute" of business done.
inefficient? correct. but it is the quality of its staff.
cannot stand any of these public employees: teachers etc.
